Vigil to Mourn and Honor 3,000 U.S. Military Deaths in Iraq
other venue
January 2, 2007 5:00pm-6:30pm
** As of January 2nd, there have been 3,003 U.S. military deaths in Iraq **
The Ojai Peace Coalition teams up with the American Friends Service Committee to host a vigil marking the 3,000th U.S. military death in Iraq, and to call for an end to war. We will vigil from 5:00-6:30pm at the Y intersection of Maricopa Highway and Ojai Ave, in front of the Ojai Valley Shopping Center. Please dress VERY warmly, and bring candles, as it will be dark shortly after we begin. Please also bring signs...positively stated, pro-peace, honoring the 3,000 dead Americans and the 655,000 dead Iraqis. Depending on how soon this takes place, the giant "PEACE ON EARTH" sign may still be up in that location. We will try to wear white, or as light a color as we can.
Please contact evan austin with questions or concerns, and please visit the event website (all listed below) to find out more and to register your attendance, which helps me as an organizer.
